Summary: Finally, A Box that takes the DISGUSTING out of daily scooping!
Comment: Stumbled across the Omega Self Cleaning Litter box quite by accident. I've used many different kinds of litter and boxes over the years. Most recently we've used feline pine for the past 3 years or so. It works well- but I was so grossed out by the solid waste that doesn't do well with the pine. Also, I was just plain sick and tired of seeing the box. I don't have a private or enclosed spot to put the box- we have it under a stairway, so I had to look at it every time I went up or down the stairs. The Omega Self Cleaning Litter box looked like an excellent innovation! The price along with Amazon's free shipping made it a relatively inexpensive risk.
So the box arrived in a HUGE, and I do mean HUGE shipping box! For those with small children-- it should make an excellent play structure! There were exactly ZERO instructions how to put the box together. Obviously the top and bottom pieces are self explanatory, however the divider piece which goes inside left me a bit perplexed. It was not obvious what to do with this piece. It comes scored- looking like it should be folded, but again I was uncertain. Let me say, I completely admit to being somewhat challenged when it comes to putting things together. So while this in no way was rocket science, it still would have been very nice to have some written instuctions, hence my 4 star rating. I'd give it a 4.5 star rating if that were an option. There are a few illustrations on the cardboard collar that is around one of the pieces, yet this left me completely un-enlightened. So, for anyone else who is wondering what to do with that plastic divider piece-- YES you do fold it so it looks like an "L" and the "L" flap goes toward the TOP of the box. You slide it into a grove to attach into place. When you roll the box- the "L" flap, flips up to allow the solid waste to fall over the top, into the waste receptacle.
Using the box: it takes a bit of trial and error to figure out what works best. I found if you roll the box to quickly onto the roof, the litter goes over the top of the "L" divider and ends up in the receptacle. After several uses, I got the hang of it. Tilt the box slowly to the right about half way, allowing the litter to first sift through the grated "L" divider, then roll further to the right so the box in nearly upside down. The clumps fall over the top of the "L" grate, into the receptacle.Slide the waste container out and dump. So simple! No more gagging with my face in the box as I scoop and hold my breath...... ah, its glorious, if I do say so. Extra tip: I've found it helpful to shake or bang the box a bit before rolling- to losen any clumps that are stuck on the sides. Maybe it's just my cat, but there are always clumps in the corner or back. So if I bang the box a bit before rolling, all matter sifts freely.
I've noticed that the litter doesn't stay 100% clean; small bits of clumped litter do remain behind. This doesn't bother me, as it doesn't bother my cat. If your cat is exceptionally finky however, it may be something to take into account. Overall- I just couldn't be happier. This one particular chore is no longer something I put off, and off, and off....not that I love taking care of the cat box- that would just be wierd. But I no longer hate it with a passion, so there ya have it. An added plus which I didn't expect-- we no longer have ANY cat smell which is just short of amazing! Wish I found this box years ago.

Summary: Good product.
Comment: I don't just give away 5 stars...it's good, interesting contraption considering how it works. It's like a tilting thing...you tilt it to move the litter to one side where it filters our the .... then you tilted it further and the... gets caught in a tray. No electricity or batteries. It looks nice too.

Summary: Nice, but BUY Largest Size
Comment: I think the idea of this product is great. The rolling box is certainly helpful, but I have found that as my kitten has gotten bigger she doesn't like it as much as the open air one. She is still pretty small, but she almost makes the "regular" size one look too small.
Pro: rolls nice and easy clean up
Cons: TOO small and maybe not worth the nice clean up.
